Website Redesign: Salt Lake City based Producer, Shandi K.
Shandi is a leader in the Utah film community and this project was a dream to work with her on!
Shandi had a current website through Squarespace and wanted to update the look and experience of it to reflect her expertise in the industry, and showcase her truly incredible and diverse portfolio of work.
This is the moodboard we began with. It exemplified the darker, moody and dramatic tones she wanted on the new site. We also played with the idea of a full-bleed landing page image, and an unconventional navigation menu on the bottom right.
Landing Page Highlights + Redesign Process
-Emphasis on the hero video of a particularly significant project.
-Incorporating the dark theme universally to the site.
-Added accordion feature for Shandi’s philosophy.
-Designed an easily navigable thumbnail gallery of both her video and photography work.
-Redesigned the site navigation to a right-orientation and distilled each sector of her work into it’s own page.

Portraying Shandi’s portfolio of video production work was a key takeaway for this project. We agreed upon a thumbnail style gallery, with each video directly embedded for ease of user experience and caption with the company + description of work.
At the bottom of the page I added a carousel style gallery of testimonials she has received over the years.
I also added a CTA button at the bottom of the page to ensure multiple touchpoint for the user who wants to work with or learn more about Shandi.
To redesign Shandi’s About page, I wanted to balance information and function.
By leading the page with a traditional bio and photo in a side by side design, and adding a carousel of stills and an accordion of work history-I was able to achieve adding lot of information without overwhelming the page.
Staying consistent, I added the CTA button at the bottom of this page as well.
